This tool helps convert VCF formatted files into HTML.
The Variant Call Format (VCF) is a text file format that is usually used in bioinformatics. Large scale genotyping and DNA sequencing projects like 1000 Genomes Project led to the development of this format. Some of the existing formats such as General feature format (GFF) stored all of the genetic data. Much of this data could be redundant. Usually these are shared across the genomes. The variant call format stores only the variations with a reference genome. This software tool helps convert text files in VCF formats into HTML. The interface is simple and any computer user should be able to get started fairy quickly. The tool offers a batch interface and all you have to do is drag and drop the files into the work area. While you can collect the individual files at a time, you can drop a folder into the interface when you want to process all the VCF files contained in the folder.
You can clear the list if you happen to make a mistake and need to start all over again. In case of doubts, you can use a sample/example file. There are two conversion options. You could convert all the VCF files into one HTML file or each of them into one HTML file. Choices are simple; click the radio button. Then there are settings for text color, background color, text width, etc. Click on the start conversion button after the output folder selection is made. A progress bar tells you how the conversion is going. This is a good tool.
